Seventeen

A shriek escaped Sascha when she surged from the depths of the water and saw Devon perched on the side of the bath.

“Devon, how many times have I told you not to do that?” she complained, as she always did.

He grunted. “It’s not my fault you’re always underwater when I come in.”

She narrowed her eyes at him. “Did you knock on the door like I told you?”

“Yes.” He huffed.

“And why didn’t you wait if I didn’t answer?”

He blinked at her. “Does it matter?”

Because evasion wasn’t something she was used to from Devon, she frowned. “Of course, it matters when you scare the shit out of me whenever you sneak into the bathroom while I’m underwater.”

“What do you do under there, anyway?” he groused, his hand trailing through the liquid silk that was just this side of scalding. “It can’t be good for your brain. The water’s too hot.”

She snorted. “It’s not too hot. I’m not burned.”

“That’s because you’re used to it.” He shook his head. “See, that’s why you need me here. To make sure you don’t cook yourself in some kind of bath bomb stock.”

Sascha wrinkled her nose as he peered over at the small tray of bath bombs she’d brought with her. Yeah, there was no way she was wasting this bath—whenever she came to Moscow and Vasily’s house, she used it.

Half-pool, half-bath, it was like a really wide dipping pool. Submerging herself under the surface was never difficult. It was too deep. She didn’t have to cling to the side to hold herself down in the depths, could even mushroom float, bobbing around as she chilled out.

Problem was Devon seemed to have an issue with the bath. For whatever reason, he had some sort of radar system set up for whenever she used the damn thing. He’d sit on the side while she floated or wriggled around in the bath and stun the shit out of her when he sneaked in to watch.

Hell, Sascha was down with watching. What had happened last night was proof of that.

She felt like another woman when one of her men took her while another looked on, but there was. . . .

A breath gusted from her lungs as she sighed. Sascha was reading too deeply into the situation.

“Just knock and wait next time,” she tried to get him to agree.

He pursed his mouth, looking remarkably stubborn as his upper lip firmed while the bottom flattened out.

The expression was far too much like the one Tin made when she tried to get him to eat something Devon didn’t like.

With a grunt, she tipped her feet, deciding to lay flat out on the water level. Sure, it put her naked body in Devon’s line of sight, but her pussy was off limits today.

Aunt Flo had visited, and knowing Devon, he was aware of that. It wouldn’t have surprised her if he’d set one of his alarms to run in sync with her ovulation cycle.
